The role of the Scheme

​

The primary role of the Coordinator is to ensure the Educators associated with the Family Day Care  Service offers inclusive, nurturing and learning environments for children, and are able to meet all the State and Commonwealth legislative requirements.

  • Select FDC Educators for their ability to work with young children and their willingness and commitment to provide a high standard of care.

  • Ensure compliance of Commonwealth legislation, the Service agreement and its Policies and Procedures

  • Offer a parent referral

  • Monitor the quality of the early education and care provided for children

  • Provide enrollment and attendance data to Commonwealth Child Care Management System (CCMS) and make payments of Child Care Subsidy (CCS) as directed by the Commonwealth Child care Management System (CCMS).

  • Support FDC Educators in their work through regular contact (e.g. phone calls, home visits and play sessions)

  • As able offer play sessions for children and Educators during school terms

  • Produce regular Newsletter for FDC Educators with current issues and resources for FDC

  • Provide Parents with further relevant information as deemed appropriate

  • Offer on-going one on one training, group training and other networking opportunities for Educators

  • Provide administration support (forms, info booklets ) and support FDC Educators and parents

  • Assist FDC Educators with the administration of their business

  • Liaise with FDC Educators and Parents and mediate as necessary

  • Promote FDC to the wider community

  • Liaise with other Agencies, Community groups and Government Departments, keeping abreast of changed which may affect FDC

  • Make every endeavor to keep FDC Educators and Parents informed of issues such as new government policies.
